UK slot racing festival comes to British Motor Museum
The largest slot racing festival in Europe takes place in May – and gives the chance to look around the stunning British Motor Museum at the same time
The UK Slot Car Festival, said to be Europe’s biggest and best slot car event, returns to the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwickshire, for the weekend of May 19-20 May.
The Festival will feature all of the major manufacturers including Scalextric along with Carrera, SCX, Slot.it, NSR, Ninco, H0 AFX and many more. This year there's also a model village rally track and historic brands such as Minic Motorway, Playcraft and Wren.
The aim of the festival is to bring every aspect of the slot car world to collectors, racers and families. There will be interactive activities including a new international slot racing competition hosted by Slot.it, a mini racing competition, oval banger racing, a drag strip, H0 Scale tracks, digital lay-outs, a retail area featuring over 60 trade stands and a slot stunt show.
Visitors will also be able to meet the manufacturers as well as swap, buy and sell cars. There will also be the opportunity to play for free on tracks showcasing the latest innovations such as the Pro App controlled racing and Arc Air wireless hand throttles from Scalextric.
'Europe’s biggest and best Slot Car event is a fantastic hands-on weekend for all the family to enjoy,' says Julie Scale, show organiser. 'Appealing to collectors and car fanatics, the festival also offers everything you could want to know about starting a new hobby!'
Tickets for the show cost £10 in advance or £14 on the day for adults, £6 in advance or £9 on the day for children and £39 on the day for a family (2 adults and up to 3 children under 16 years). For more information visit the Slot Car Festival website.
