Beaulieu's Simply Japanese set to be most popular ever!
The upcoming Simply Japanese rally at Beaulieu on July 29 is shaping up to be one of the best 'Simply' events so far. Here's the lowdown
Beaulieu’s Simply Japanese event is growing to supersize proportions! Shaping up with 35 clubs and 550 cars already booked to attend the rally on Sunday July 29, the XXL celebration of all things Japanese and automotive is set to be one of the biggest ‘Simply’ events ever.
Cars ready to be showcased in the exclusive grounds will range from luxury saloons and ‘cheerful’ camper vans to economy hatchbacks and high-powered performance beasts, amid all types of commercial rarities.

The Z Club of Great Britain will be flying the flag for the classic Datsun and Nissan ‘Z’ sports cars, while Del Sol UK will present their open-top Honda CR-X. In a significant anniversary year for UK Mazda MX-5 enthusiasts, Mighty 5s will be celebrating the roadster with full honours, whereas the Herts Scooby Crew will be highlighting the merits of Subaru.
Prefer to chill rather than burn rubber? The Mazda Bongo Owners’ Club will be setting a different tone with a relaxed day in their campers…
Further clubs to look out for include the Accord Type R Owners’ Club, the MkIV Supra Owners’ Club and the Nissan 200SX Owners’ Club, not to mention the Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ Drivers’ Club and Japanese car group Kuruma Shakai.
Everyone on site will be celebrating the diversity of cars from the land of the rising sun, participating drivers given the opportunity to park their Japanese vehicle within the colourful line-up alongside exploring all the features of the Beaulieu attraction.
Attendees and partakers can vote for their favourite car of the show in the People’s Choice Award; the owner of the most popular model presented with a commemorative Beaulieu trophy and a special Autoglym prize.
How to get there
For those driving Japanese cars into Beaulieu to take part in the show, participant tickets are £10 an adult, £5 a child (aged 5-16) if bought in advance online, or £12 an adult and £6 a child if bought on arrival. All other visitors can buy a general admission ticket to Beaulieu at the standard attraction admission. For advance tickets or more information see the official website.
Event tickets include entry to all of the Beaulieu attraction, including the National Motor Museum and its collection of more than 250 vehicles, World of Top Gear, On Screen Cars, 13th century Beaulieu Abbey, the Montagu ancestral home of Palace House and its stunning grounds and gardens.
Entry is from 9am for rally participants, when the Brabazon Restaurant will be serving hot drinks and breakfast snacks. All other visitors should enter Beaulieu though the Visitor Reception building with a standard attraction admission ticket from 10am.
