Rupert Grint's on-screen Aston Martin DBS up for sale!
The Aston Martin DBS used by Rupert Grint and Ron Perlman in 2015 French comedy film Moonwalkers could be yours! Here’s how
Finished in an elegant Aquamarine and boasting Aston Martin’s hefty 4.0-litre inline-six powerplant, this 1971 DBS is an attractive proposition on its own merit. On the market for £125,000 ($164,000, €142,000), the iconic grand tourer has enjoyed the company of only one owner for the past 14 years. Better still, over that time, the Aston has apparently covered only 1000 miles.
However, this Gaydon beast has an ace card to play. Not only can it crack 145mph and trumpet the growl of 280bhp, but also lay claim as a genuine film star. Featuring heavily throughout 2015 comedy Moonwalkers, the DBS was used by stars Ron Pearlman and Rupert Grint.

As a cheeky nod to the legendary DBS V8 used by Roger Moore and Tony Curtis in cult TV show The Persuaders!, Rupert and Ron signed the boot lid after filming was complete. Why are we telling you this? Well, it just so happens that the Aston is currently up for sale here.
The Aston underwent a ‘going over’ earlier this year and had welding to the sills, outriggers and floorpans before pre-production on Moonwalkers began. It also received a cavity wax treatment to ensure the tin worm is kept firmly at bay.
As if that wasn’t quite enough, besides some new tyres, the DBS also rides on new stainless steel wire wheels. For those who wish to stay respectable in social circles, the wire wheels on a six-cylinder DBS are a must. Stick alloys on there and you’ll have the V8 fraternity hunting you down with pitchforks.
The bumpers have recently been rechromed, but aside from some light restoration work, the DBS remains largely original. The paintwork is holding up with an impressive shine whereas the interior remains in rude health.
To some, this is an honest example of Aston’s finest grand tourer, holding a valid MoT until March 2019. To others, it’s a legitimate piece of film history. Get a closer look with the AutoClassics classified advert.
