Wales Rally GB 2018 set to make history!
October’s Wales Rally GB 2018 has confirmed attendance of the fastest and most iconic machines rallying has ever witnessed – and there is one big surprise in store!
Not only will the upcoming Wales Rally GB, held through October 4-7, be celebrating the illustrious history enjoyed by rally aficionados, but the autumn event will also make history!
For the very first time on Britain's mainland, closed sections of public roads in host-county Conwy will witness a mixture of iconic classic rally cars amid the latest generation of competing World Rally Championship cars.
The fastest machines ever witnessed within the sport resting on static display should whet appetites for the event’s finale, set to remain talked about for years to come! Ready for this? The final day will feature the WRC stars racing against the clock around the famed Great Orme and then through the streets of Llandudno!

As if such a spectacle and a special Rally Legends display isn’t enough, what’s more is the history-making street stage on Sunday Morning. Thousands of fans are expected to attend as much-loved luminaries from Group A, Group B and WRC parade around the Great Orme and head straight into the town centre.
The best bit? The Great Orme Llandudno street stage is free to attend! Although, if you fancy a bit of the ol’ V.I.P treatment a limited number of Grandstand and Rally Xtra @ Llandudno upgrades are available.
‘It’s going to be a milestone weekend in British motorsport history and the presence of all these wonderful cars from yesteryear will be an integral part of an exciting rally festival in Llandudno,’ enthused Ben Taylor, managing director of Wales Rally GB.
‘We will pay homage to the sport’s glorious past and the famous names of Paddy Hopkirk, Roger Clark, Richard Burns and Colin McRae, but also introduce a new breed of rally fan to the amazing WRC of today.’
Although several months remain until the event’s kick-off, more than 80 fabled rally cars have been invited, with most having already registered interest in attending. Looking to get involved? You can register via the competitors section of the WalesRallyGB website.
