New Porsche specialist opens at Bicester Heritage
Sports Purpose aim to offer only the highest quality Porsches, and a few of their rivals, from their base at Bicester Heritage, Oxfordshire
A new Porsche specialist has opened, based in the heart of UK historic motoring hub Bicester Heritage.
Sports Purpose, born out of friends John Brewer and James Turner’s desire to bring the very best collectors’ Porsches and contemporary automotive rivals to fellow enthusiasts, is based in a new showroom in RAF Bicester’s former Special Repair Workshop.
The building sits within the Motor Transport Yard, which acts as a central hub for the site, putting Sports Purpose right at the heart of the action. The Yard itself is Grade II listed and the best-preserved example of its type to survive in the UK.

Sports Purpose officially opened to the public for the first time at the Bicester Heritage Sunday Scramble open day, with huge crowds filling the Motor Transport Yard to admire the Porsches – and the lone Lancia Aurelia – on display in the new showroom.
The company aims to source and sell only the finest authentic Porsches, taking the time to understand fully client demands.
James Turner (below), founder director of Sports Purpose, said: 'We are extremely proud to take up residence at Bicester Heritage to sell and to source cars. Sports Purpose will present Porsches and contemporary rivals in the way that we would expect to be dealt with.
'We want our customers to have the perfect car, and we’ll strive to find it for them. Bicester Heritage is the most remarkable hub for historic motoring and the natural location for us to start our business. Located only 45 minutes from London, we intend to share our love of authentic and original cars as widely as possible.
'The Scramble has become a special event for all enthusiasts and it was wonderful to see so many smiling faces here on Sunday enjoying our array of cars.'
Dan Geoghegan, managing director of Bicester Heritage, added: 'Sports Purpose represents a new standard and approach in the historic Porsche sales arena; their enviable knowledge, expertise and passion fits in with Bicester Heritage's own vision for excellence in the historic motoring world.'
