McLaren 600LT MSO edition to make world debut at Pebble Beach

McLaren will give a specially modified 600LT reworked by its Special Operations division its world debut at Pebble Beach Conocurs d'Elegance this week

McLaren will give a 600LT Stealth Grey edition designed by their Special Operations division its world debut at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance later this week.

Launching on Pebble Beach’s Concept Lawn this Sunday, August 26, MSO will show off a tweaked 600LT that features further design changes and carbon fibre bodywork swaps, shedding more weight from an already track-focussed machine.

It comes only a month after the standard 600LT was launched at Goodwood Festival of Speed, allowing for a raft of personalisation options.

As the name suggests, this bespoke edition 600LT is coated in Stealth Grey MSO Bespoke paint, accented with traditional McLaren Orange on the bonnet, front splitter, and skirts. That detailing also extends to a new roof scoop, designed to be reminiscent of the iconic McLaren F1 ‘Longtail’.

Carbon fibre panels have also been implemented to save weight, with changes made to the car’s roof, door mirrors, front splitter, rear bumper and diffuser, among other smaller alterations. Further weight-saving efforts have been made to its wheels, fitted with ultra-lightweight ten-spoke forged alloy wheels.

That weight-saving theme continues inside, with standard seats swapped for a lightweight carbon fibre set borrowed from the McLaren Senna. With a harness bar and six-point harness also fitted as options, expect its next sighting after Pebble Beach to be at a circuit track day.

There is one slightly curious addition to this racing-themed 600LT. Most track day themed vehicles aim to strip out weight at all costs and, despite plenty of carbon fibre present to reduce weight elsewhere, this example features an upgraded 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

Though technically unique due to the addition of bespoke elements, few of the 600LT Stealth Grey’s features are brand new, with most changes already available through its ‘MSO Defined’ options list.

In addition to the unique paint option and roof scoop, only the headrest embroidery, throttle pedal etching and hand-painted keys are unique to MSO’s newest creation.
