Video: Pair of Lotuses burn rubber to celebrate 70th anniversary
What happens when you hand two Lotus employees the keys to an Exige Sport 410 and Evora GT410 Sport and let them go wild? Lots and lots of burnouts...
In anticipation of its 70th anniversary celebrations next month, Lotus sent an Exige and Evora onto its Hethel test track to etch out the number 70 in tyre marks, resulting in plenty of shredded rubber.
More than 300 cars will descend on Hethel during the anniversary weekend itself but, in preparation for the big event, Lotus utilised two of its newer models to create a 70th anniversary logo with a series of burnouts and donuts on their skid pan.

Known for their simple, lightweight designs since founder Colin Chapman built his first car in a small London garage in 1948, a lack of driver aids makes their cars easier than most to throw around, a perfect candidate for some track-based hooning.
Lotus is working overtime to commemorate their age-related milestone, offering a pair of anniversary models this year. Both the Exige and Elise have been given a makeover, unsurprisingly dubbed the '70th Edition' in the Exige's case.
Only 40 units are being produced, available either in 350 Sport or 380 Sport trim levels and available in either Empire Green, Essex Blue or Monaco White paintwork. The cherry on top is subtle references to their 70th anniversary, with 'Lotus 70' stitched into the Exige's headrests and stickered onto the doors.
As for the Elise 250 Cup, Lotus has released a GP Edition, featuring an iconic racing design. Painted in black with gold wheels and accents, the GP Edition is designed to be reminiscent of 1970s Team Lotus Formula 1 cars, with the Team Lotus crest also embroidered into the headrests. There's a nod to the team's 13 F1 world championships on the engine cover too, naturally.
That motorsport theme will continue during their 70th anniversary celebrations, with Classic Team Lotus set to attend with a selection of two time F1 world champion Jim Clark's racing machines.

On the interior you have a clean dash, instrument panel, non-corroded buttons and switches. The rubber flooring in front is not worn out but clean. The drivers seat corner seam is separated as photographed but would be a very cheap and easy fix for an upholstery shop to fix. The seat is not torn. The rear carpet is clean but does have some wear in the fabric from people getting in and out. Ag
