Seven decades of Lotus is being celebrated at the British brand's Hethel HQ on Saturday. Tune-in live to watch the special event

Lotus is celebrating its 70th birthday with a big party at its Hethel headquarters this weekend. The ticketed event is totally sold out to the point where the local police will be on hand to help with the flow of traffic in the Norfolk village. Missed out on tickets? Fear not, we have a live stream of the motoring event that’s taking place on Saturday 29th September.

More on Lotus

Hethel has been home to Lotus for over 50 years with the future looking even brighter thanks to new facilities being planned for the ex-RAF airbase. Over 8,000 people will go through the gates on Saturday along with 300 cars that will be on display.

It has been 70 years since Lotus founder Colin Chapman built the Mark I in his future in-laws' garage — there’s actually an ongoing search for this car that you might be able to help with! To celebrate this landmark there will be demonstration runs of championship-winning Grand Prix cars, iconic rally machines, the latest sports models from the brand, and even a ‘one of every Lotus’ parade in the afternoon.

Below is the event timetable (subject to change) which might prove handy if there’s something particular you wanted to tune-in for. Note the mysterious ‘special event activity’ at 15:30pm. How interesting. Wonder what that might be?
