What to see at the 2017 NEC Classic Motor Show
The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show remains the biggest classic car show in the UK. 2017’s event is now open – here’s a sneak peek
It’s that time of year again, with lashings of pristine, polished and concours classic vehicles spread throughout five halls in Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre.
With over 2500 cars, motorbikes and commercial vehicles covering over one million square feet – the equivalent of 12 football pitches – the Birmingham exhibition offers the most diverse mix of marques and styles, from American muscle cars to Japanese road rockets and everything in between.
You’ll find 240 owners’ clubs displaying rare and beloved vehicles of all ages, spanning more than 110 years. There’s also the UK’s largest indoor autojumble, presenting parts and expert advice alongside 650 specialist traders and exhibitors. If it’s car related, you’ll find it here – from posters and scale models, to exhausts and specialist car storage solutions, not to mention the numerous food stands serving up grand portions of pastries, pies and cakes.
Silverstone Auctions is also present, showcasing its high-profile auction classics due to go under the hammer this Saturday. The Wheeler Dealers team is live on stage, as is the Practical Classics restoration workshop. There is something to suit all tastes, with static displays celebrating 50 years of the Lotus Cortina, 70 years of Ferrari and all things military.
AutoClassics is on stand 246 in Hall 1, where we are on hand to discuss everything we are up to. Come along and see us – there are also free copies of renowned Formula 1 journalist Maurice Hamilton's Lunch with Legends hardback book being given away while stocks last. We can walk you through our website and sign you up for our competition to win a Ferrari F40 LM Amalgam model worth nearly £9000!
