Laguna Seca and Lime Rock Park join SVRA's 2019 calendar
Two iconic motorsport venues have been added to the 2019 Sportscar Vintage Racing Association roster for 2019. Laguna Seca and Lime Rock Park will host classic motorsport events
The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) is one of the oldest organisers of classic racing in the world. By taking some of the most iconic tracks in America and creating events that allow owners to run their cars competitively, the SVRA puts on a show that’s enjoyable for fans and drivers alike. Two new exciting additions to the 2019 calendar includes WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and Lime Rock Park.
This Vintage racing series kicks of its 41st instalment at the Sebring Vintage Classic weekend, which is sure to draw huge crowds and attract some spectacular cars. The 2019 calendar takes in 13 events including the Bob Williams Heritage Cup & Driver’s School that takes place at Roebling Road Raceway before the season gets underway. Everything concludes at the Golden Bell Helmet U.S. Vintage National Championships at United States Grand Prix venue Circuit of the Americas in October — so it’s a pretty busy schedule.

Lime Rock Park has been in continuous use since 1956. Over the years it has hosted everything from Trans-Am racing to IMSA and NASCAR. The Memorial Day Motorsports Festival will take place at the historic track on May 24 - 27. Tony Parella, SVRA president and CEO, said: ‘These are venues where racers and race fans feel the heart and soul of American road racing. Lime Rock Park lives the history of our sport every day.’
Laguna Seca is one of the world’s most famous tracks, well known from multiple racing series and its prominent appearance in many racing video games. It’s a challenging track that makes for spectacular racing, and attracts some drivers solely because of Turn 8, the ‘Corkscrew’ corner that falls away at a 16% gradient. However, the Trans Am Festival at Laguna Seca over May 16 - 19 clashes with another SVRA event at Road America.
Parella adds: 'With more 11,000 vintage drivers in our database, including 2,500 SVRA licensed members across the country, and the vast geographic distance between these two amazing road courses, we’ll have hundreds of race cars at both events.'
We think adding these two famous tracks it’s a great move from SVRA and we look ford ward to seeing the action in 2019.

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro represents everything that's good about Chevy's version of the F-body. With a muscular 350, a 4-speed manual, and a no-nonsense look, it's a blast to drive and represents a lot of fun for not a lot of money. The light blue on the car might be a little lighter than Marina Blue, but it still looks right on the Camaro's distinctive bodywork. Fortunately, this on
