French coachbuilders exhibition headlines at Mullin museum
L’époque des Carrossiers: The Art and Times of the French Coachbuilders presents the most beautiful cars from automotive craftsmen, visionaries and artisans
The Mullin Automotive Museum’s exclusive new L’époque des Carrossiers exhibition is set to showcase the most striking examples of hand-built coachwork on some of the world’s most revered and acclaimed cars.
Sub-titled The Art and Times of the French Coachbuilders, the display will open on April 14, 2018 in Oxnard, California, and will feature such stunning works of art as Jean Bugatti’s 1936 Type 57SC Atlantic, Figoni and Falaschi’s 1939 Delahaye Type 165 Cabriolet, the 1937 Talbot-Lago T150-C SS ‘Goutte d’Eau’ and more.

Further cars, sculptures and artefacts will celebrate ‘L’époque des Carrossiers’ – the golden era of coachbuilding – with names represented including Henri Chapron, De Villars, Million, Citroen, Henri Labourdette, Pourtout, Guiet & Cie., Jacques Saoutchik, Gabriel Voisin and Vanvooren. Further concours-winning vehicles will include Saoutchik’s 1938 Dubonnet Hispano-Suiza H6B ‘Xenia’ and the revolutionary 1934 Voisin Type C27 Aérosport Coupé.
