Ford raffling one-off Mustang Bullitt for diabetes charity
Ford is raffling off a unique Kona Blue Ford Mustang Bullitt on November 13 to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – here’s how to get a ticket
Ford has unveiled a one-off special Ford Mustang Bullitt during the 2018 Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit, but it’s not up for sale. Nope, Ford wouldn’t take any amount of money for it, so put that cheque book away and quit checking the value of your children on the open market.
Rather, Ford is raffling the bespoke muscle car off at $10 a ticket (up to a maximum of 60,000 tickets) with proceeds donated to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

How is this Mustang unique?
Boasting the high-performance add-ons featured on all 2019 Mustang Bullitts, this bespoke JDRF Bullitt-edition Mustang has been painted Kona Blue and sports exclusive grey wheels along with tailored blue interior stitching. All other Mustang Bullitts are either black or Highland Green, making this example a true one-off.
The performance-tuned 5.0-litre V8 churns out 480bhp, which is good for a reported top speed of 163mph. Keeping in tone with Steve McQueen’s now legendary on-screen Mustang Fastback immortalised in 1968’s Bullitt motion picture, badging has been kept to a minimum, whereas the grille has been ‘blacked out’ and a special white cue ball gearshifter has been installed.
Needless to say, the JDRF Bullitt-edition Mustang is set to become something of an automotive urban legend. Showcased on Friday, August 17 at the Ford Media Club House before joining 1000 other pony cars on Mustang Alley during the Woodward Dream Cruise at the intersection of 9 Mile and Woodward Avenue in Ferndale, Michigan, we can bet that it will rarely surface in public.
Also revealed prior to the Cruise was Ford’s new generation of Mustang Cobra Jet race car. Capable of topping 150mph with quarter-mile runs in less than nine seconds, the new Mustang made its public debut as part of the Mustang Alley feature which also featured the JDRF Bullitt.
The Cobra will appear next weekend in Norwalk, Ohio, for the 50th Anniversary Ford Performance Cobra Jet Reunion at Summit Motorsports Park. The largest gathering of Cobra Jets in history, this is expected to attract more than 150 vehicles dating back to 1968. You can find out more about the Cobra Jet here.
