Elvis's Cadillac meets 'The Fast & the Furious' in Hollywood sale

GWS Auctions will be selling Elvis Presley and Hollywood automotive memorabilia in Los Angeles later this month

A selection of Hollywood cars and memorabilia, including a Cadillac Seville bought by Elvis Presley and his personal Gideon Bible, are being sold by GWS Auctions on August 25 in the hills of Los Angeles.

The 1977 Sea-Mist Green Cadillac Seville, the last car 'The King' bought before his death later that year, has a 5.7-litre V8 engine and a wheelbase of exactly 2.9 metres. He bought it at Hillcrest Motors in Beverly Hills for Nancy Reese, a girl he met in the dealership while he was buying a silver and black Cadillac for himself.

Hollywood history's in cars...

Elvis's bible contains underlined passages made by the man himself, and his 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Cartier Edition and the racket he used to play racquetball with his beloved cousin and best friend Billy Smith the day before he passed away are also up for sale. GWS Auctions has previously auctioned one of Elvis's private jets.

The 1970 Dodge Charger and 1978 Buick Grand National 'Wheelie Car' driven by Vin Diesel in The Fast and the Furious, the fourth film in the 'The Fast and the Furious' saga are just two of the many vehicles with a cinematic or television history for sale.

There is also Rob Zombie’s 1976 GMC Motorhome used during production of the 2016 horror film 31, a fan-built Scooby Doo 'Mystery Machine' 1969 Dodge A100, a customised “Lil” Lightning McQueen 2013 EXGO RXV Electric Golf Cart inspired by the hit Disney Pixar animated film Cars, a 'KITT' 2008 Ford Mustang GT from the 2008 television series Knight Rider and a museum-exhibited Elvis 'Dodge ‘em' Bumper Car from Libertyland Amusement Park.
