Classics for sale: Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari

A future classic? This highly rare Abarth 695 holds a genuine Ferrari connection – and is one of only 99 made

When people win the lottery one of the first things they do is go and buy their dream car — we don’t blame them. For many, the default choice is a Ferrari with all of its performance and history.

For those of us lacking the funds, there is a different sort of Ferrari that you might be able to afford. This intriguing Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari has arrived in our classifieds.

More on Ferrari…

OK, so it’s an Abarth and not a Ferrari F12 TDF, but it does have a genuine Ferrari connection. Though now floated separately on the stock market, Ferrari has been part of the Fiat stable since its acquisition in 1969. As the name suggest, this Abarth is a tribute to the Prancing Horse and features a few touches also found on the supercars.

This example is finished in Abu Dhabi blue metallic – one of only three produced in this colour – and hosts a set of stripes akin to those on a Ferrari F430 Scuderia. It also wears a set of Scuderia shields and features a real carbon fibre dashboard.

Underneath all of the Ferrari cosplay is an Abarth 695, the most potent flavour of the Italian hot hatchback. Its 1.4-litre turbocharged engine kicks out 180bhp which makes this pocket rocket good for a 0-62mph time of under 7 seconds.

Being a 695 model also means that it’s equipped with a substantial set of carbon race seats for when you leave the city streets behind and venture onto a twisting country road. When its time for the fun to stop, a set of Brembo brakes are there to bring things down to a slower pace.

This Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari is listed by the Panorama Bay Motor Company for £28,995. A lot of money for a little car, but then just 99 were made. It currently has 30,000-miles on the clock and comes with a complete history. Perhaps in years to come, this little pocket rocket will be considered as historied as its 1960s forebearer.
