Classic cars in new celebrity edition of Antiques Roadtrip

The BBC TV favourite will soon return to screens with an episode featuring Peter Andre, Kelly Brook, Denise van Outen, Joe Pasquale and the presenters driving classic cars

An episode of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip, set for broadcast later this year, will feature Peter Andre, Kelly Brook, Denise van Outen and Joe Pasquale driving an array of classic cars.

Model and actress Brook was paired with a 1972 Triumph Stag whereas van Outen found herself behind the wheel of a 1971 Morris Minor convertible. Andre and Pasquale were given a classic Mini to share, with each taking turns at the controls.

The cars were provided to the BBC by The Danewest Automotive classic car hire company,

It's claimed that Brook found the Stag something of a handful to begin with, yet van Outen (a former girlfriend of petrolhead Jay Kay) took to the Morris Minor ‘like a duck to water’. Paul Dodson, the owner of Danewest Automotive, told KentLive that filming took a total of three days and ‘they all took to the cars well and had a good time’.

Not only that, but the Sevenoaks company has also supplied a fresh vehicle as a new regular for the well-established BBC programme.

The show's presenters, antique experts Tim Medhurst and Christina Trevanion, also now have new transport, in the form of a 1979 MG Midget. The pair took the Midget, affectionately called ‘Millie’, through all manner of situations while filming in the south-west, the outcomes of which we will have to wait for.

Viewers can witness the MG Midget join the show on Monday, September 3 at 4.30pm on BBC1. Participants in previous editions of the programme have included Jennifer Saunders, Roberta Taylor and Charles Dance.

Danewest Automotive, located in the Chaucer Industrial Estate in Kemsing, specialises in hiring out classic cars to motoring enthusiasts. Cars and drivers can also be supplied for weddings and events.
