First taking to the airwaves on the National Geographic Channel in 2013, Car SOS captured petrolhead’s oily hearts with tender stories capable of reducing the sternest enthusiast to tears. Assisting those unable to complete their classic car restoration journey through either serious financial trouble or personal health woes, Townshend’s expert mechanical knowledge and Shaw’s blagging skills ensure each vehicle is restored to within a micron of its life.
Each episode of Car SOS follows Fuzz and Tim as they work alongside a specialist team to restore the decaying vehicles – which has previously included the likes of a Land Rover Series I, Jaguar E-type, Ford Sierra RS Cosworth and Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione II, bringing them back to life for their unsuspecting but deserving owners.
Everything remains a secret until the unveiling – usually during a public event – with the only individuals aware being those who nominated the car to the show's organisers in the first place.
Fans of the show will be able to visit a dedicated stand at the show which will play host to the presenting duo, alongside a number of suppliers and sponsors who help the pair during filming. These include brands such as Mac Tools, Mitsubishi, Frost, Aldridge Trimming, JP Alloys, Longstone Tyres and Enviro-Strip.
Alec Mumford, chairman of The Confused.com London Motor Show, said: ‘We are really excited to welcome the Car SOS team to The Confused.com London Motor Show. Tim and Fuzz are well respected amongst those within the automotive community, and fans of cars, for the work they do and the joy that they bring to car owners across the country. This is yet another fantastic reason to buy your tickets to the ExCeL now and ensure you’ve got full access to all that the motor show has to offer.’
Tickets currently start at just £18.50 and one child (under 17) goes free with a paying adult. They’re on general sale now and available to purchase through the official London Motor Show website.
