Rare off-roaders lead Barrett-Jackson’s Northeast Auction
Desirable sports utility vehicles and trucks set to cross block during Barrett-Jackson’s third annual Northeast Auction at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut
Looking for a collector truck or iconic SUV? You don’t have to look much further than Barrett-Jackson’s upcoming third annual Northeast Auction, held at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on June 20-23.
Various examples of the iconic British-built Land Rover Defender are already consigned, including a bespoke 1987 90 wearing custom orange paintwork with black accents, roll bar, leather diamond-stitched seats and 20-inch wheels.

Further Land Rovers include a 1987 110, restored over the course of 12 months and powered by a 2.5-litre diesel, and a right-hand-drive 1991 Defender 110 with high-capacity, diamond-plate-lined truck bed.
There is also a 1993 NAS 110, one of only 500 built, available with a mere 17,724 miles on the clock. However, it’s not all about imports… there’s a seriously cool range of home-grown trucks vying for your attention.
‘Interest in collector trucks and SUVs has been stellar over the past few years, and the connection with trucks runs deep, both culturally and socially, in our American heritage,’ said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson.
‘As more hobbyists diversify their collections, they’re adding custom trucks to their stables. For several years now, professional builders have been pouring their talent and the latest technology into these collector trucks to make them functional, as well as a lot of fun to own and drive.’
‘From SEMA show models to wild British off-roaders, we’re excited that some of the best examples in the genre will cross our auction block in Connecticut.’
One of the American-built trucks expected to raise attention is ‘McHenry’s Golden Nugget’– a 1955 Chevrolet 3100. As featured in Truckin’ Magazine, this custom Chevy truck is powered by a 5.7-litre Vortec V8 and wrapped in Gold Nugget Kandy custom paint. It has to be seen to be believed...
A further attraction should prove to be a 1953 Chevrolet 3100, with only 3000 miles covered since a frame-off restoration in 2014. It’s powered by a 383ci stroker engine, while the cabin features custom door panels, leather seats, full carpeting and Dolphin gauges. For music fans, there’s also a Bluetooth stereo and a custom glassfibre speaker surround.

- 1941 Diamond T 201 (Lot #759) – Frame-off restoration with a leather interior and light custom upgrades
- 1972 GMC Sierra Grande (Lot #751) – Complete restoration with fewer than 200 test miles since its completion
- 2003 Hummer H2 (Lot #645) – Custom built for the 2005 SEMA Show with 22,500 actual miles
- 1978 Ford Bronco XLT (Lot #638) – Complete restoration with all-new OEM interior, carpet and trim
- 1965 Chevrolet C10 (Lot #345) – Restored with great attention to detail, with new bumpers, grille and hubcaps
- 1957 Chevrolet 3100 (Lot #343) – Professionally restored from the frame up; completed May 2017
