1965 Backdraft Cobra RT3 Classic Edition Big And Tall
This Cobra is a few different kinds of unique, and the best part about this car is that you can bring it home!
In September of 1961, Carroll Shelby wrote a letter to AC Cars requesting a Cobra specially built to accept a V8 engine, to which they agreed. Chevrolet – not wanting any competition for the Corvette – refused to provide Shelby with an engine for the Cobra. However, this is where Ford stepped in. Longing for a rival to the Corvette of their own, they jumped on the idea.
Although Ford and Shelby discontinued importing the roadsters in 1967, this epic series of events led to the creation of the iconic 427-powered Cobra.
