Family-owned Meridien Modena – which was declared Ferrari Global Aftersales Dealer of the Year in 2017 – has created seven new jobs including two full-time apprentice technicians. In total, in excess of 40 staff will run the new premises, which includes 13 service bays – two of which will be dedicated to working on classic Ferraris.
Among the benefits it will bring are dramatically reduced scheduled service waiting times – down to between three and five days from a peak of six weeks – as well as a sophisticated parts-storage system and high-voltage special tooling to work on the latest hybrid models. As many as 80 cars can be accommodated on site, while clients can relax in a dedicated lounge that provides workshop viewing via floor-to-ceiling glass.
Of the facility’s classic car service, Meridien Modena director Glenn Butt said: ‘We’re proud to be the only centre on the south coast that will be able to offer the aftersales facility element of the Ferrari ‘Classiche’ service, which can be provided to classic and competition cars. At our new facility we’ll be able to provide all the mechanical repairs and inspections needed to restore or rebuild a classic Ferrari and ensure each vehicle complies with the original specifications.’
