Only 640 of these 100M LeMans models were built.
Don Healey and British Motor Corporation partnered up in the mid-50s to produce the 100 "LeMans" in celebration of the Austin-Healey race car that placed 12th and 14th at the Le Mans race back in 1953. Finding a legit 100M example can be a bit frustrating considering that Austin-Healey offered Le Mans kit and passing them off as factory-built 100M cars. The Vault is excited to offer this stunning real-deal 1956 Austin-Healey 100M LeMans through virtual auction. It is certified and confirmed as one of the 640 factory 100Ms ever built, and it is registered with the 100M registry.
In immaculate condition, the glossy body of this 100M is slathered in a glossy two-tone paint job with Reno Red over black. Even more, it features a fold-down windshield and driving lights. Peek inside the cockpit to a beautiful red leather interior that looks as if it just rolled off the assembly line at the factory.
Under the hood sits a 2660cc OHV four-cylinder engine that produced 110-horsepower. It featured 8.1:1 compression pistons, a high-lift camshaft, dual 13/4-inch SU carburetors with a special intake, improved distributor, larger anti-sway bar, steel-faced head gasket, stiffer front shocks, and a louvered hood (or bonnet) equipped with a leather strip.
