We talk a lot about what is means to have a car that is considered a ‘restomod’. The once buzzy term that was slapped on virtually any classic car that got so much as modern gauges now feels a little worn, but we stand besides the fact that it's still important when used in the right context. As it pertains to this Chevrolet Camaro, the context of being a proper restomod is absolutely relevant. This 1968 Camaro RS is not only restored to the most strenuous detail, but it was given all the modern trappings that have come from powertrain development over the decades.
Looking at this stunner from the outside in, the body has some subtle features that make slightly more modern looking that other first-generation Camaros. The drip rails have been eliminated, the glass up front and back is flush-mounted, sport mirrors take duty on the sides, and the fenders are flared to fit the ten-spoke Mag wheels. Up front is a custom grille that retains the iconic hidden headlights from the RS, and the cowl hood adds to the aggressive appearance of the F-Body. It also sports the full-width spoiler, that had to be custom-built into the design. Covering the bodywork is a flawless coat of a 'modern red' color.

The highlight of the cabin is the modern performance seats in black leather with red accent stitching, which is a theme continued on the door panels, steering wheel, and center console. Amenities that many drivers take for granted - but miss when in an older car - like air conditioning, power locks, power windows, power steering, and push button start, are present in this 1968.
Now the part you’ve been waiting for, the powerhouse that drives the rear wheels on ‘go’. Under the hood, you’ll notice a very clean engine bay and a 383 cubic-inch stroker engine with all of the modifications to make it a growling monster - this includes a COMP Cam’s camshaft, ProComp cylinder heads, and all the bolt-ons to support air intake and exhaust flow. To keep the ride smooth, the suspension is completely overhauled, and stopping power comes from a beefy Wilwood four-wheel disc brake package.
