Cars & Coffee element of Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance will run for a whole day next year
An entire day will be dedicated to the 2019 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance’s Cars & Coffee element, which will take place before the main event. The 10th and 18th fairways of The Golf Club of Amelia Island, where the world-renowned concours is held, will host this latest aspect of the show on Saturday March 9.
Cars & Coffee at the Concours will allow individuals with vintage, exotic and collectible vehicles – more than 450 of which are expected – and several thousand spectators to gather to admire and discuss the vehicles on show. Coffee and donuts will be available to enjoy, alongside the manufacturer-led corrals for new vehicles.
Concours highlights on AutoClassics...
For the past two years Automobile magazine has used the venue to announce its Automobile All-Star award winners. It’s unusual for concours shows to have a whole day allocated to a forum event, and in both 2017 and ’18 the Concours d’Elegance was brought forward a day due to bad weather, clashing with the smaller Cars & Coffee event.
The next edition of Cars & Coffee will be not only the longest but the grandest yet. Expanding on the pair of Chairman’s Choice Awards, a group of well known automotive authorities and celebrity judges will select vehicles from the show to honour. YouTubers will film the event and meet entrants for their own vlogs, and celebrated drivers will be mingling with the crowd. too.
The Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance views Cars & Coffee at the Concours – which is free for spectators – as a gift to the community; a family-friendly ‘thank you’ for supporting the event and making the award-winning show, now in its 24th year, a reality. Vehicle applications for the 2019 concours open this month.
