Himley Hall in Dudley will play host to nearly 800 classic vehicles for 2018’s Classic & Retro Show, held on Sunday, September 2 – here’s a sneak peek

Dating from the 18th century and set amongst 180 acres of landscaped grounds and parkland, the tranquillity and solace of Dudley’s Himley Hall is set to be usurped by the revving engines of 800 classic vehicles and thousands of chattering enthusiasts on September 2.

There’s something for everyone lined up for the Himley Hall Classic & Restoration Show, including an eclectic display featuring everything from sports and muscle cars, to commercial and military vehicles, to classic cars and motorcycles.

More event news!

More than 35 motoring clubs will be attending with their members and private owners showcasing all manner of exotic models and everyday heroes of yesteryear. Not just that, but restored examples will also be on display – including a barn-find 1971 Morris Minor rebuilt from the ground up.

A major theme of the event is the Ford Escort’s 50th anniversary, the humble saloon launched back in 1968. 17 examples will be on display in all, with fast Ford enthusiasts treated to a pair of special cars owned by Brian Betteridge – an immaculate RS200 and an Escort RS1700T rally car.

A further highlight for Ford fans will be a 1986 Ford Fiesta XR2 with a single previous owner over the last 30 years, rarely seen in such original condition.

It’s not all about Fords though, as family classics such as the Austin 1300, Triumph 2000, Vauxhall Viva and Volkswagen Beetle will also be in attendance. For those seeking exotica, marques including Lotus, Porsche, Maserati, and DeLorean will find their heartbeats elevated.

Trade and autojumble stands will also be present to support an array of classic vehicles, alongside activities for children.

Himley Hall will be Gemini Event's last show of the season, so organiser Stephen Smith is hoping to go out with a bang. ‘Himley Hall is always a lovely way to end our season of events. It’s been another busy year, but we’ve seen more stunning cars than ever before, and our final event brings another fantastic line-up,’ said Smith.
