Highlights of October’s premier Australian classic motor show and concours revealed; plenty in store for 2018 event
Art Deco automotive icons, Australian Grand Prix winners, classic American supercars and two-wheeled stars including the Harley-Davidson Panhead and Triumph Bonneville… All this and much more is lined up for the latest staging of Australia’s premier historic motoring festival, Motorclassica.
Set to take place on October 11-14, 2018, at the World Heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, the stylish show will feature more than 160 of the most prestigious machines from Australia and around the globe. Its incorporated Australian International Concours d’Elegance is claimed to be the southern hemisphere’s most prestigious and unique competition of beauty, design and provenance.

Meanwhile, Motorclassica displays from Mercedes-Benz, McLaren, Porsche and more will complement exhibits featuring subjects as diverse as micro cars and Cadillacs, and will give the expected 20,000-plus crowd plenty to see and do.
Motorclassica isn’t all show and no go, however. The weekend will kick off with Tour Classica, which will see more than 70 cars and motorcycles travelling in convey through the city’s picturesque streets.
Meanwhile, visitors will get the opportunity to test drive new cars from the likes of Mercedes-Benz, Maserati, Jaguar and Indian, while the 80-vendor marketplace will offer everything from restoration and aftermarket products to automobilia and art.
