The winding North Coast 500 is arguably the best driving route in the UK, and the The Torridon's five-star hotel – in association with Morgan Cars and Pride of Britain hotels – is from August 2018 giving its guests an opportunity to hire out the nimble Morgan 4/4 sports car for the day for prices from £250. The agile sports car – the longest running production vehicle in the world – weighs just 795kg and is perfect for negotiating the zigzagging North Coast 500 roads around the remote West Highland hotel. It is suitable for entry-level sports car drivers and more experienced pilots alike.
The North Coast 500 is a 516-mile lap of the Highlands which takes in dazzling mountain scenery, rugged landscape, interesting towns and extended remote sections. It contains also the lauded high and winding Bealach na Ba route. Other landmarks of the ‘lap’ include the woodland waterfalls in the Fairy Glen, Rosemarkie, and the elegant Dunrobin Castle with its landscaped gardens inspired by the Gardens of Versailles.
The Torridon hotel also offers picnics for the journey created by its acclaimed restaurant, 1887, featuring produce from its two-acre kitchen garden and on-site farm, as well as after the drive offers nightcaps in the Whisky & Gin Bar featuring 365 malt whiskies and over 100 gins, including The Torridon’s own gin Arcturus.
