This coming weekend will see Bicester Heritage play host to inaugural Classic & Sports Car Show in association with Flywheel. Here’s a sneak peak
Bicester Heritage, the national hub for historic motoring excellence, is preparing for the 12,000-strong Flywheel event. Set to take place on June 23-24 (this weekend!), it will incorporate both iconic vehicles and historic military machinery.
The Classic & Sports Car Show in association with Flywheel will offer a plethora of beguiling and mind-blowing exhibits and demonstrations. Its backdrop will be the stunning period setting of the former RAF Bicester – which is known as Britain’s best-preserved World War Two RAF bomber base.

The show will be a collaboration of two of the most captivating events on the automotive calendar. Flywheel has been a roaring success since it joined the calendar in 2015, while last year’s inaugural Classic & Sports Car Show at Alexander Palace in London featured £30m-worth of historic vehicles.
Among the many scintillating exhibits for visitors to experience throughout the weekend at Bicester Heritage will be an exquisite roster of cars and motorbikes that will take to the venue’s figure-of-eight test circuit. The showcase will include vehicles such as an 1898 Marot-Gordon Tricycle and 1957 Lotus Eleven. And that’s not all…
Bicester Heritage’s managing director Dan Geoghegan said: ‘The incredible 1939 Grant tank riddled with bullet holes drove around the Technical Site last week, and has sat outside our Club Rooms since.
‘It has given everyone here a scintillating taste of the dynamism and unique character of the first Classic & Sports Car Show in association with Flywheel. We can’t wait to see what other fascinating gems will be pressed into action.’
Alongside the tarmac-honed machinery there will be breath-taking aerial demonstrations. In addition, honourable veterans Maurice Marriot, 93, and Eddie Habberley, 95, will return to the skies in the Tiger Moth aeroplanes they frequented during their military careers .
