The Road to Saigon Rally

Date: 04 Feb to 02 Mar

Address: Singapore

Contacts:+44 (0)1235 831221

Website:

Map & Direction

From the bustling trading city of Singapore the Road to Saigon rally will take twenty seven days to transport us from this epitome of the modern world to the heart of ancient civilisations in Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, with everything else in between. We retrace our original steps for some of the Rally taking the best from the highly acclaimed 2015 Road to Mandalay as far as the northern Thai town of Mae Sot, where we diverge and cut a new path further into Thailand before branching out to the East and visiting Cambodia and Vietnam for the first time. The event is open to both vintage and pre-1977 classic cars and is suitable for both experienced and novice crews; navigation will be by tulip route book. Tests will mix regularity and speed trial and will take advantage of closed tarmac roads, rice paddy fields, rubber plantations, jungle tracks and dusty gravel. Daily distances will be between 380 and 550 kilometres and the roads will be carefully chosen to be challenging but not impossible.

Winter Challenge to Monte-Carlo

Date: 17 Feb to 22 Feb

Address: Le Touquet, France

Contacts:+44 1656 740275

Website:

Map & Direction

The 2018 running of the Winter Challenge to Monte-Carlo will see a combination of the traditional and favourite elements of the event but with new ideas and route that will take us higher than recent years into the Alps. To complement the familiar names that the route will use from previous classic Winter Challenge to Monte-Carlo rallies, this year will see us scale classic sections that will offer a challenge to both crew and car – territories will be used during the event where it has been known to be covered in snow, offering the greatest challenge to crew and car but we are also aiming higher, over classic Cols such as Col du Tormalet and Mont du Chat. New this year is an all-new French start with Le Touquet playing host to the event as we say goodbye to the North Coast of France and head South. Our aim is to get a test at the very beginning of the event on the seafront but this has not been confirmed as yet. The concentration run – this traditional start to the event will get us deep into France to allow us maximum time in the mountains from leg two, but we are adding some competition to the day to prepare the crews for the four days that lay ahead. Magnificent lunch locations – We have managed to secure some fantastic lunch locations, one overlooking the stunning Lac de Vauglans in the Jura Mountains. Another day we will enjoy the VIP treatment of the famous French Trophee Andros Ice Racing series where we will dine between tests on the Ice Circuit itself which is situated high up in its own ski resort. On leg four, after a challenging morning driving some of the famous stages from the modern-day Monte Carlo Rallye, competitors will dine at a prestigious vineyard in Chateauneuf du Pape. Night Section – There will be one main ‘night section’ on the event. Approximately two hours of challenging evening section in the Ardeche Region with a mixture of TC and regularity sections will certainly be an important factor to who lifts the silverware in Monte Carlo. As always, the Winter Challenge to Monte-Carlo wouldn’t be complete without classic places such as Beaune, Aix-Les-Bains (known to the older competitors as aches and pains), Monte-Carlo, where we will sample the delights of reaching the most rewarding finish line in motorsport. We look forward to seeing you on the event.

Map & Direction

Officially the UK’s fastest growing classic car event, over 21,000 enthusiasts joined us for the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show 2017, bringing together all aspects of classic motoring. From barn finds discovered after many years of storage and those project cars that have stalled in an owner’s garage, to restorations just getting back on the road and those pristine marques with gleaming brightwork and proud as punch owners. 2017's show welcomed an out of action 1972 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in the Barn Find display, whilst over at the Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership stand a 1972 Triumph Spitfire stole the show and was crowned the crowd's favourite. Classic Car Auctions hosted their biggest ever sale featuring over 200 cars with a total of £2.4 million being made across the two-day sale, and Mike Brewer and Ant Anstead hosted the live stage which saw Practical Classics Editor, Danny Hopkins' Jensen Interceptor restored to it's former glory. If you need help and advice from our motoring experts and celebrities, want to buy the tools to do the job yourself or find a specialist restorer who can tackle the work on your behalf, you won't want to miss out on what 2018's show has to deliver. With cars for sale from both dealers and a sale from Classic Car Auctions, live demonstrations, car clubs doing live restoration on their club stands and over 1,000 cars on display, you'll want to keep your eyes open for when tickets go on sale for next year!
