The eighties were fantastic times for Porsche and the 911 was a desirable sports car that unlike most of its rivals could genuinely be used every day. For the 1984 model year, the iconic Carrera name was to be seen on a standard 911 for the first time and with a new 3.2 litre engine would now comfortably exceed 150mph.
The 911 Carrera `Sport` featured front and rear spoilers, 16 inch Fuchs wheels, Bilstein shock absorbers and electric sports seats as standard.
This LHD example was originally supplied to the USA in 1985 and comes with a certificate of origin from Porsche. It covered very little mileage in the first three years, where it is understood the car was being used for display purposes before being exported to Japan in 1988.
The car is supplied with a service history from Mizwa Porsche in Japan confirming it had covered 70,000 kms by 2014 when
it was repatriated to the UK and registered in October of that year.
In 2016 we acquired the car for an existing client, who wanted a LHD example to travel backwards and forwards from his retreat in Austria.
We prepared the car in our workshop to ensure everything was working as intended including the factory fitted air conditioning and to offer dependability whilst in Austria.
Our client requested that we re trimmed the interior in full black leather, fitted a new momo prototipo steering wheel, chrome door handles and headlamp surrounds together with silver Porsche script to the outside.
Having driven this 911 for 12 months and now covered 87,000 kms (54,000 miles), family needs have dictated that a true 4 seater car is required for travelling to Austria, so the car is now reluctantly for sale.
Finished in its original colour of gloss black and now fitted with full black leather interior, this car looks fantastic on its 7" and and 8" x16" wheels together with its sport equipment package.
It is totally rust free, mechanically sound and as already proven, is an ideal dependable classic companion for cross European tours. Fully functioning air conditioning and heating system together with an electric sunroof make it suitable for a trip across the alps or a relaxing drive to to the algarve.

With the Carrera nameplate, Porsche had produced their first real production sports car. Named after Porsche’s victory at the Carrera Panamericana, this model mated the potent four-camshaft engine from the 550 RS Spyder into the 356’s unassuming chassis. Called the 1500RS, the Carrera engine was an air-cooled, four-cylinder engine that was designed by Ernst Fuhrmann to be an out-and-out racing

With 190 bhp available from the six cilinder boxer engine, the performance is almost in Carrera RS territory, and so is the driving experience. Only 979 examples of the 2.4S with "Ölklappe" were produced, which makes it quite a rare car as well. The
