Overview

November 1995 Mercedes E320 Estate W124 chassis. A late final-facelift version that has had three owners from new. It’s well specified with (alongside the usual equipment): • mushroom leather • Burr walnut trim • electric seats x2 • cruise control • climate control (fully automatic) • 17” AMG monoblock alloys • 5 speed auto • Remote locking • Detachable Oris towbar • 7 seats • Roof rack (think this is OEM but not sure) I’m not a trader, but an enthusiast with a weakness for 80s and 90s Mercedes (I’ve had 3x w124, a w140 s600, and currently run another s124 e320 plus an r129 SL500 and w220 S500). I bought this car last September in response to a small ad that caught my eye: it was local, the ownership and service history stacked up and the drive and interior were hard to fault- the leather and carpets in particular are in fantastic condition. It’s got 95k on the clock and had £5k spent on it since 2012 including head gasket replacement, exhaust, control arms fuel and brake lines. All of which was done by the main dealer (with invoices). Since then, I’ve done the following: • A Service · Rear discs, pads and handbrake shoes · Rear tyres · New Battery and Hirschmann aerial · Rear suspension spheres and springs · Front Springs & shocks A Steering damper Engine Mounts Viscous fan clutch Thermostat To get it through the MOT (expires June `19) it required some welding to two spots of corrosion. When doing so, we found some rot in the usual w124 areas (behind the headlights, jacking points), and have cut out and replaced with new metal. Once completed, it was thoroughly treated with Schutz sealing: the entire underside is now sound and futureproofed for years to come. Lots of before/during/after pics available. Now that the mechanics and underside are sorted, the next steps are to do a respray, replace the windscreen and cracked rear bumper insert and a rusty left wing and little age-related marks/chips etc throughout. A wheel refurb will also be completed. With all of this done, it will be the finest on the market. If it doesn’t go now, I’ll market it again once the bodywork is completed (and price it accordingly!). Lots more pics and information available upon request.
